I am mainly putting this here as an aim. I want to try and get SOmap published in JOSS this year and I think the main things that need doing before I write it up are 1: ggplot implementation and 2: documentation/vignettes of standard use cases.

As far as I can tell the main things needed for the ggplot implementation are:
1 - updating SOauto_map to write its objects in the same manner as SOmap as SOmanagement.
2 - working on print methods for these objects. I have to double check but I think SOmap is working ok at the moment but I have not looked at SOmanagement.
