Website Sync just stops

Hello All - been using Publii for years and this is the first time I've had any serious trouble with it. I'm running my websites on S3 - I have verified that the sync works on other websites on the same account, using the same key and secret key, so I do not think I have a permissions issue. The website in question - https://mainelinemagazine.joeykelleyphoto.com/ - has just cleared 150 posts, has some large graphic content and is only gaining more. I really do not know what to do here, on the local side I have no issues with bandwidth and my internet connection is both stable and stout. It simply freezes at this point and even remained overnight at this point in the process. S3 confirms that it is receiving the login information - but nothing syncs.

Please check if you have anything useful under deployment-process.log or deployment-errors.log under Tools -> Log viewer

@SandPVRR - looks like an issue with connection - downloading files.publii.json is a first operation and it looks like it fails. write ECONNABORTED suggest low-level networking issue - maybe some AV software blocks Publii?

@dziudek - I'd believe that except that other websites are syncing just fine. I have multiple sites in different buckets on the same S3 account and a separate one on a different S3 account. All are working except for this one. The one thing I have not tried is to run a manual upload to the S3 bucket from the Publii Output folder - is that worth doing?

@SandPVRR - manual deployment is always worth to do, because it will keep your website updated. Maybe it will solve the issue during next sync - it is hard to say for now. Please try to do it - at least you will have updated website :)

@dziudek - Good news I was able to manually upload the site and get all the various parts and pieces to work. The bad news - Publii still freezes at the Uploading Website stage. I am currently looking for a workaround so that I do not have to re-upload the entire code base each time.

I'm having the same issue since updating Publii a few days ago. I get the error message: “A JavaScript error occurred in the main process“, followed by:

“Uncaught Exception:
Error [ERR_IPC_CHANNEL_CLOSED]: Channel closed

From what I can see, the site looks okay and works fine nonetheless, but this is rather annoying.

Hi Joey,

I had a very similar issue. In my case, the site has around 1,255 articles with a lot of images, and no matter how many times I tried, I couldn’t get Publii to sync properly.

In the end, I managed to solve the problem by using FileZilla (FTP) instead of Publii’s sync. It wasn’t ideal, but it worked and allowed me to upload everything successfully.
