Is it possible to map next/previous tab to ctrl+pgud/pgdn and/or mouse button 4/5

I have two very similar files and I'm trying to spot the difference between them.
So I thought I'd scroll to the same place in the file and switch tabs quickly.

But also, when you have multiple tabs, it's nice to be able to use keyboard shortcuts to jump back and forth between tabs !

The shortcuts to change tabs are listed in the Extras>Settings>shortcuts tab are ctrl-alt left arrow and ctrl-alt right arrow. You can remap them to anything you want to from the settings window.

You should also use the diffing view (View>Diffing) to see the differences between two files.

This worked !

To allow tab changing with mouse button 4/5 I used X Mouse Button Control and for imhex remapped those buttons to ctrl+pgup/pgdn
Works great

Thanks I also tried diffing

But because my files have an offset, nearly everything is marked as "different"

you didn't explore the options that allow you to select algorithms for diffing. In particular the one shown in the picture should handle the offset without problems.

Yes that worked!

However at the end I think it finds an incorrect "diff"

But it does confirm nothing in the middle is awry

thats not a diff. The algorithm works by finding insertions (green), deletions(red) and modifications(yellow). Because of the size difference it treats all the bytes that are after the end of the smaller file in the bigger file as deletions based on the order of comparison. If you swap the two files then insertions become deletions and deletions become insertions.
