I'm now using ML/LLM to quickly translate all the languages myself. If you happen to speak one of the supported languages and notice anything that doesn't look right, feel free to make edits as per the instructions below. LLM's sometimes aren't great with the context of a string when it's very short so it might make some mistakes.

This discussion will be used to track localization progress and assignments to avoid duplicating work.

A few ways to contribute:

1. Fork the project, add your translations and submit a PR
2. Use @rokartur's xcstrings translation website: https://xcstrings.vercel.app/
3. Take the Localizable.xcstrings file from here and import it into String Studio(open-source) or Strings. Return strings catalog file with changes to me.

@alienator88 I'm deeply sorry I noticed I made a few mistakes AGAIN, I'm currently fixing them but also translating the new strings. I'm struggling tho with some of them because of the context of some words thus why I made mistakes, could we have some sort of when are they used like "Bundle Files..." or "Checked paths for %@"?

EDIT: I fixed all of them, I only need to translate Bundle Files... and Checked paths for %@ since I don't know their contexts.

Bundle Files is related to a feature that takes the app and the files it finds and puts them into an archive. You can see it by clicking on an app in Pearcleaner and then push CMD+B.

Checked paths for is for the development environments page. When you select a dev environment, like Xcode for example, it says "Checked paths for Xcode"

Hello, sorry for the delay! There you go.
Also, replaced "Affichage" for "View" by "Voir les détails..." which means "See/check details" for the Update view since "Voir" or "Vue" is not sounding French for the context of updating Pearcleaner. You could also say "Afficher" instead if you really wanna say literally "View" but I don't see it relevant with the download icon.

Also, the string "Update Available" is in English.

Also in English, In French it would be "Universel".

These strings Update Available, Update in progress, Update completed are still in English (at least in Slovak) even in the newest version.

I'll look into it to see how they pull the strings into Crowdin, I'm not familiar with it.
If they pull straight from the repo, that would be nice as it would always stay updated.

It caused too many issues to the string catalog when it was importing it back into the repo, so I gave up on it.
For now I'll keep manually adding the xcloc files in this discussion.

There are also other projects that might work better for you when implementing translations back into PearCleaner. I have experience with them only as a translator, not from the implementation side. I believe they should also be free of charge for free and open-source projects.

I believe that if you find a service that works best for you, it will save you a lot of time when it comes to implementing localizations.

Hi, here's the complete Turkish translation. I had to do some word engineering since some expressions with variables were not really translatable into Turkish due to Turkish grammar structure. But overall it should be a pretty refined and almost perfect translation. I will check again after you add the translation into the app and revise if needed. Do you have an ETA for adding the translation?

p.s: I'm a translator, not a developer, so feel free to let me know if i messed up on anything on the technical side and I will do my best to fix it.

Do you have a preference on which type of spanish you want to translate?

Those are the 3 options xcode has currently.

I will do Spanish (ES) since this the locale I use. Once it is done, however, it shouldn't be much work to do the latin-american and US localizations.

I'll mark them verbatim for now, but will likely remove that view anyways soon.

I hope you're doing well. This week I'm planing to translate the new and updated strings and I wanted to ask if it would be possible to include a small credit for the translators in the app, like a mention in the "About" section or a "Thanks to our translators" note.

It would be nice to have recognition for the work done.

I was able to import zh-Hans, but zh-Hant seems to have the target language set as zh-HK in the xliff file and it fails to import with an error.

zh-HK and zh-Hant might be the same files?
Side note, zh-HK is already translated at 100%, so I just need Traditional imported and we're set.

Actually you just need zh-Hant and zh-Hans for Chinese, HongKong also uses zh-Hant

I am in Mainland China, here we use Simplified Chinese. Taiwan and HongKong use Traditional Chinese, maybe there are some differences in some terms, I am not sure. Also need @changanmoon @funsiyuan to take a look.

Hola. He encontrade dos errores en el idioma español que también puede estar en otros.
Primer error: falta la linea de código en "Localizable.strings" (en todos los idiomas)

Segundo error: error en la fuente del programa. Se ve la tecla "View" sin ser traducida aun estando incluida la linea de código en "Localizable.strings"

Thanks for catching that, the strings for the helper badge were not enabled for localization.
Should be fixed in next release.

I would like to translate the localization into Indonesian. Unfortunately, Loca Studio is not available in my country/region.

If that isn't available either, you'd probably have to install Xcode and clone the repo to make adjustments.

I just added Indonesian translations using ML/AI so we can get the bulk filled out.
If you want to review the translations and point out anything that needs to be changed where context doesn't make sense.

It works offline as a PWA application, saves the file to local storage, so if it closes accidentally, everything will still be saved, and it also provides a comparison of diff. 🫡

I just tested, and my app works fine.

Click the link in the main post, and download the Localizable.xcstrings file, open it using my app, then you are good to go.

formally i using ko.lproj translation, xcstring is very unfamiliar and something hard.

When translating other apps(like Monolingual), they don't change this quickly, so I can't quickly catch my mistakes. so i think online & quickly translation is good of thing, i guess. :)

One question guys, which model would you prefer for translations? At the moment I'm using LM Studio with meta-llama-3-8b-instruct model with a python script to do that? Is there any other better way to do that? Because I've had issues with the translations...

That one worked :)
I got it added in and removed the stale references. Those yellow warnings just mean there's some translations for strings that no longer exist in the code, so strings I removed. I clean them up usually between releases.
