Account recovery - GitHub OAuth login created duplicate account

I previously had an ArtifactHub account with handle arustydev that was linked to my GitHub account.

When logging in via GitHub OAuth today, a new account aRustyDev622 was created instead of logging into my existing account.

• Original handle: arustydev
• New (duplicate) handle: aRustyDev622
• GitHub username: aRustyDev
• Email: develper@gh.arusty.dev

I also ended up 'creating' / 'retrieving' another account

• Handle: aRustyDev
• GitHub username: aRustyDev
• Related Email: develper@arusty.dev

Could you help merge/recover my original account? I'm unable to claim my existing repositories with the new account.

I just want to be able to have my 'arustydev' name back for packages

When logging in with GitHub, we use the primary email address to set up your Artifact Hub account. If the primary email address in GitHub has changed, we should have set up a new account for you using the new primary email address. When the user name is already taken (likely by your previous account in this case), we add a random suffix to it to make it unique.

We can't merge those accounts, but maybe this could help:

If you still have access to the email you were using as primary before, you could:

(to recover your username)

• Set it back as primary email in GitHub temporarily.
• Log in into Artifact Hub (that should give you access to your original account).
• Update your username to something different to free it.
• Then you can switch again the primary email in GitHub to the new one, log back into Artifact Hub, and update your username to the one you previously freed.

(to transfer your repositories to the new account)

• Option 1: while you're logged in with your previous account (temporarily primary email switch in GitHub), create an organization in Artifact Hub, invite the new account to it and transfer the repositories to it. Then you can transfer them to the new account from the organization (or maybe you prefer to keep them under the organization, up to you).
• Option 2: using the ownership claim procedure (https://artifacthub.io/docs/topics/repositories/#ownership-claim), which does not even require access to the previous account.
