Recent posts list on a static page?

There must be an easy way to do this, but I'm just not seeing it / understanding it?

I am running the tailwind theme. I've seen recent posts list within the 'clean' theme, on the side of the page, but not on its own static page.

Hi,

You need to create new custom template file: static--front.html.php, copy and paste the content from static.html.php . Than call the widget: <?php echo recent_posts(); ?>

I see, that works! This seems to apply recent posts to all my static pages, is there a way to specify it to be on a certain static page?

And then, is there a way to spec the number of recent posts listed? I was trying to do this without success.

You can use custom template: https://docs.htmly.com/theming/structure#custom-layout.subpage-structure or if statement:
