Cloned MAUI solution not building (.NET 9, main branch)

Description

Cloned the MAUI repository.

Followed the steps in Development Guide.

Ran these commands:

dotnet tool restore

dotnet build .\Microsoft.Maui.BuildTasks.slnf

Already have the latest version of .NET 9 SDK (9.0.304) installed.

And this seems to be the only logical issue, as the rest of them are missing primitive .NET types:

C:\repos\maui\src\SingleProject\Resizetizer\src\Resizetizer.csproj(45,5): error MSB4036: The "AdjustReferencedAssemblyVersion" task was not found. Check the following: 1.) The name of the task in the project file is the same as the name of the task class. 2.) The task class is "public" and implements the Microsoft.Build.Framework.ITask interface. 3.) The task is correctly declared with <UsingTask> in the project file, or in the *.tasks files located in the "C:\Program Files\dotnet\sdk\9.0.304" directory.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Clone the MAUI repository
2. Restore the tools
3. Build the solution

@egvijayanand I am sorry for late response. I prepared everything at home computer, I am just waiting for Android Emulator to download. Which project do you run when opening Microsoft.Maui-windows solution?

No issues. You're taking the time to help resolve the issue itself is a big thing.

First, I try to build the solution from the CLI, as it's not building in VS either.

These are the commands:

dotnet tool restore

dotnet build .\Microsoft.Maui.BuildTasks.slnf

Tool restoration is successful. But the build is continuously failing. I think it's one error, some MSBuild Task, the rest of them are primitive types missing, like System.Object, System.Int32, ...

The "AdjustReferencedAssemblyVersion" task was not found in the Resizetizer.csproj at line # 45. Can't determine from where it should bring in that.

Tried the other command as well, which opens the VS automatically. But in vain.

And the local repo is up to date with the remote main branch.

dotnet cake --target VS --workloads global

I have problem running dotnet tool restore.

@Redth encountering a build issue with the Resizetizer project in the .NET MAUI solution.

The SDK, workloads, and tools are up to date. Are there any additional dependencies needed to build this project?
