Is it possible to add a feature to mirror the entire app (i.e. Left becomes right)? I want to use the app for a car hud that would be using mirrors and therefore would need a mirror function on the app to reverse the image. Currently running on a RADXA Zero 3W

You don’t need an app-level feature for that, just mirror at the system/display level.

check your display driver, there may be an option within the SPI driver.

I am not sure if the driver has the option to do so for the SPI screen. Been looking for it for a while before coming to ask for the feature on here.

I understand the use case, but this isn’t something I’ll add to the app, mirroring is something that should be handled at the driver level. Take a look at juj/fbcp-ili9341#227, it shows which register/bit you need to flip to mirror the image.

Will do. Only issue is it is FBCP and the driver being used by RADXA is FBTFT. I'll look into it. On a side note, do you know how to optimize the rpi zero 2w's performance with the app? It is quite slow and from what I see, it is due to the small ram the pi zero 2w has.

I don’t think this is a RAM issue. The main bottleneck is that we currently do software decoding for CarPlay, since there’s no VA-API (or other hardware-accelerated) backend available on the Pi Zero 2 W (or any other pi).

The Zero 2 W’s CPU is simply too limited to decode the H.264 video stream smoothly in software. That’s why performance is poor, regardless of RAM size.
