I am hitting urllib.error.HTTPError: HTTP Error 403: rate limit exceeded during my build on various packages like:

• "ghcr.io/devcontainers-extra/features/fd:1"
• "ghcr.io/devcontainers-extra/features/actionlint:1"
• "ghcr.io/devcontainers-extra/features/ripgrep:1"

This is a little frustrating. I pay for Github codespaces to fail to access Github repositories?!

This happens because GitHub Codespaces does NOT automatically authenticate your devcontainer build against GitHub Container Registry (GHCR). You must pass your GitHub token into the devcontainer environment so GHCR can authenticate properly. Then create a GitHub Personal Access Token (PAT). After that set the Token on your Local Machine. In the final step do Rebuild Without Cache.
