looking for a easy to get started guide with vitest and testing in general

so, i am building a cross platform, notes taking app called Cherit.
the frontend is written in svelte with vite.
want i want to achive is test custom js function that build a file tree from tauri's fs apis for js for diffrent platforms.

the getting started guide for vitest is too hard for me to get started with testing. although i know a little bit about testing from college, i never actually implmented it until now that i feel the need to.

my main goal from testing is regression testing so that new changes to file system function don't mess up existing behaviour

i would be very happy if i could find a article or a tutorial for begineers with vitest and specifically regression testing with vitest and best practises for a tauri vite project

i want to stickly focus on just pure function testing right now, not UI testing like running a full browser and stuff

thanks, but i was too hard for me right now. also it probably suit some other use case but not mine right now

what is the api it() in vitest? i can't find any docs, but it seems like its similar to the test() api. can somebody please help?
