macOS: is there a way to always start the VPN on the same utun interface?

I have an issue where the utun interface seems to change randomly whenever I connect. It's almost never the same utun and when I bind an application so that it'll only communicate via the VPN I have to manually look this up each time and restart the app.

It would be really helpful if I could just say "always use utun4" when starting a connection.
