Vertical scrolling crop

Idk whether this is a feature request or a bug or what else.
I mainly use portrait images on my pixel launcher. But due to the vertical scrolling the "fit" option tries to align the left and right boundaries of the image somehow to my 3 screens width. This leads to people being cut of. It also doesn't matter how I set the scrolling percentage for the live wallpaper (great idea btw). It behaves the same for both modes. Is this actually something you have any control over?

After the last update
No difference between fit and fill
It's always crop the picture
