Summary of Changes

Hello @frumioj, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request focuses on modernizing the HTTP server mocking infrastructure within the options_test.go file. It transitions from a custom testServer implementation and the httptreemux router to leveraging Go's standard net/http/httptest package and http.NewServeMux. This refactoring simplifies the test code, enhances maintainability, and ensures consistency with idiomatic Go for HTTP testing.

Highlights

  • Refactored HTTP Test Server: The custom testServer implementation, previously used for mocking HTTP endpoints in tests, has been removed and replaced with the standard net/http/httptest package.
  • Simplified Routing in Tests: The httptreemux library has been replaced with Go's built-in http.NewServeMux for handling routes within the test HTTP servers, streamlining the test setup.
  • Improved Test Code Readability: The changes simplify the setup and teardown of HTTP interactions in tests, making them more robust, easier to understand, and aligned with standard Go testing practices.

Code Review

This pull request refactors the tests in options_test.go to use the standard net/http/httptest package instead of a custom testServer implementation. It also replaces the httptreemux dependency with the standard http.ServeMux. These changes are a great improvement, as they reduce custom code, remove a third-party dependency, and make the tests more idiomatic and easier to maintain.

I've added a few comments to correct some misleading log messages within the test handlers to improve clarity and aid in debugging.

Agree with consistency use of io.WriteString, and the error message comment.
