Summary of Changes

Hello @mukesh31994, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request focuses on refining the OpenTelemetry configuration within the PM2 process manager setup for the UI application. The changes primarily involve an adjustment to how the OpenTelemetry instrumentation module is loaded and the introduction of a new environment variable to facilitate the use of custom CA certificates for the OTLP exporter in production. These updates aim to enhance the reliability and security of telemetry data export.

Highlights

  • OpenTelemetry Instrumentation Loading: The method for loading OpenTelemetry instrumentation in the PM2 configuration has been updated, switching from --import to -r in node_args for the ui application.
  • OTLP Exporter CA Certificate Configuration: A new environment variable, OTEL_EXPORTER_OTLP_CA_CERTIFICATE, has been added to the production environment settings in pm2.config.js. This variable is configured to use the value from process.env.OTEL_EXPORTER_CA_CERTIFICATE, enabling custom CA certificate handling for the OTLP exporter.

Code Review

This pull request updates the OpenTelemetry configuration in pm2.config.js. The change from --import to -r for preloading the instrumentation module is acceptable for compatibility. However, the use of a non-standard environment variable OTEL_EXPORTER_CA_CERTIFICATE to set the standard OTEL_EXPORTER_OTLP_CA_CERTIFICATE could cause confusion. I have recommended using the standard OpenTelemetry variable name consistently to improve clarity and maintainability.
