changes in "True Comments" index to be inclusive of the entire comment list instead of leaving out the last comments
updates some legacy function calls and ensures numpy array type compatibility (tostring --> tobytes, make sure all comment arrays are string object arrays, make sure index arrays are itn ojbect arrays, etc.)
