Description
I have an idea that might help address my isues with programs getting cropped, scaled oddly. I wonder if this might be easier to implement. Adding VGA/LCD CRT type controls for output screen. Tools like H-Size, V-Size, H-Posit, V- Posit. Amiberry currently outputs a proper NTSC screen for me. It's just squished. As it would be as it expects the wide pixels of a television style CRT. Back in CRT VGA days, would could use on the monitor controls to simply stretch/expand the screen "vertically" to make our balls round again.
It's an analog, and subjective adjustment obviously. Up to the eye-of-the-beholder, but a solution none-the-less
"get it as close as i can" type thing.
I can run Lightwave and Modeler in 1:1 aspect VGA modes like 800x600 of course. But it's more than just LW. All of workbench and other programs are of course "NTSC squished". Adding these virtual monitor tools would help a lot I think.
It's like Amiberry needs to know what it's HOST display is. "Oh this is a 1:1 pixel aspect display" And it could try to apply an auto stretch. But as we've seen this can have issues. Be nice to just have "more dumb" traditional controls for the user to adjust
