Support for custom login forms (for Captchas)

I got a report, that it is currently not possible to register an account (at least on a ejabberd server with version 17.01).

The error message is the following:

com.chatsecure: Missing attribute 'id' in tag <iq/> qualified by namespace 'jabber:client'

From an XML log I can see, that ejabberd sends this error message with the error code 400 (bad-request). You can try to create an account on draugr.de with ChatSecure, if you want to reproduce this error and see the XML log.

Huh, never seen that before. I wonder if this is a regression or strict mode in ejabberd? I'm pretty sure it has worked fine registering on ejabberd servers for a long time.

It might be, that ChatSecure does not support the registration form, when ejabberd sends a captcha

Ah yes we don't support captchas or any other custom login forms.

Hi! Also encounter this issue with ejabberd 18.01 (captcha enable for IBR).

Hi,
first of all, nice program and great work implementing OMEMO!

Nevertheless, registration of a new account is a key xmpp feature for my use. Are there any news on implementing captcha support as I don't want to open the door to my xmpp-server to spammers?!

I always only get the error message of that the account details are wrong but as the login works with preregistered accounts and the registration process works on e.g. conversation (android), I guess it might be the stupid captcha?!

Or is there any other known way for custom registration without a completely open server-registration-config?!

From my point of view, this would be really a key element towards a xmpp communicating circle of friends and family !
