Android updates are failing with java.util.ConcurrentModificationException

I have been aware of this issue for a while, but I'm filing this for tracking.

The dependency updates for Android are currently failing due to a bug in ben-manes/gradle-versions-plugin: ben-manes/gradle-versions-plugin#966

It should theoretically be fixed once ben-manes/gradle-versions-plugin#979 is merged.

Not that it only happens in Android projects using AGP >= 9.0.0 (which is the majority of projects in the Firebase org by now)
