annoying problem

I suggested to my friend that he use the HMCL launcher to play Minecraft, as he wanted to play it. However, he couldn't run HMCL version 3.10.0.319 on his 32-bit Windows 7 machine. I suspect the problem is likely due to the lack of a suitable Java version installed on his machine. Please provide me with the optimal Java version to ensure the launcher works correctly on his machine

Currently, the latest version of HMCL requires Java 17 or later.

Due to JEP 449 and JEP 479, if your friend's operating system is 32-bit, the latest LTS version they can use is Java 21. Due to Oracle and other OpenJDK vendors no longer actively providing 32-bit support, the options for Java 21 Windows 32-bit builds are limited.

Another point to note is Minecraft's system requirements. Starting with Java Edition 1.20.5, Minecraft requires Java 21 and a 64-bit operating system. This means your friends will likely only be able to play versions 1.20.4 and earlier.

In summary, I recommend that your friend install BellSoft Liberica JDK 17 & 8.

• Visit https://bell-sw.com/pages/downloads/, then locate JDK 8 and JDK 17.
• Scroll down the page and locate the Windows section below 32 bit.
  This is crucial! The section above 32 bit is only for 64-bit systems.
• Click MSI to begin downloading.
• Install JDK 8 first, then install JDK 17.
  When installing JDK 8, keep the first three options on the “Custom Setup” page unchecked (❌); when installing JDK 17, do not change the options.
