Duplicate tags being created when using the same tag name

I noticed that it's possible to create duplicate tags that all have the same name on the web version

To reproduce the bug:

1. Write a tag name in the tag input
2. Click Enter
3. Write the same tag name in the tag input.
4. Click Enter

In addition, you can open another task that didn't have this tag

1. Write the same tag name
2. Instead of using arrows or cursor to click on the previously created tag, click enter immediately to generate multiple tags with the same name

If feasible, I would like this issue to be assigned to me

Suggestions:

1. Create a unique constraint/index on the mongodb tag model (Optional)
2. Fetch tags and check if the tag has been created before

Duplicate tags are intentional. However, the duplicate tags being created is a bug we will investigate.

Hi @Tressley I can take this issue on. I just need a bit more clarification on how you’d like it handled for example, should this be a popup, or simply a new tag with a number displayed on it? If a popup is preferred, could you also let me know how you’d like the flash message to be triggered?

I'd also like to know if case sensetivity matters.

@Tanmay-Nalawade -- Thanks for your interest in this! Here's a bit more information. Let me know if you're still interested and I can assign this issue to you.

Duplicate tags are intentional in that a player's personal tags can share the same value as a Challenge tag and vice versa. Case sensitivity does not matter.

The input in the Tags dropdown is a combination search/create function. If the player clicks Enter, and the search does not match an existing tag, it will create a tag with the search value.

• If the player's search value matches an existing tag, clicking Enter should not create a new tag. Rather than pop up or create a numbered tag, clicking Enter should apply the tag. We should hide the "Press Enter to add tag: 'test tag'" messaging.
• If the player's search value matches multiple tags, clicking Enter should not create a new tag. Clicking Enter should apply the first result.

Hi @Tressley I just went ahead fixed the duplicate tags bug by checking for the first element in the dropdown. I just wanted to ask if you want me to fix the issue in the tags section besides the search bar as well. I'll attach a screenshot for you to get a better understanding of which section I am talking about.
