JDiskMark is a powerful and versatile disk benchmarking tool written in Java, designed to help you accurately measure the performance of your storage devices across different operating systems. Whether you're testing HDDs, SSDs, or network drives, JDiskMark provides reliable insights into your disk's read and write speeds.
- Cross-Platform Compatibility: Run JDiskMark seamlessly on Windows, Linux, and macOS without platform-specific modifications.
- Intuitive User Interface: A user-friendly interface makes it easy to configure benchmarks, visualize results, and analyze disk performance.
- Customizable Benchmarks: Tailor tests to your specific needs by adjusting parameters like block size, sample size, sector alignment and number of threads.
- Detailed Results: Get comprehensive reports including sequential and random read/write speeds, latency, and IOPS.
- windows installer - jdiskmark-0.6.3.msi
- ubuntu installer - jdiskmark_0.6.3_amd64.deb
- Get the latest release from the JDiskMark on sourceforge.
- zip distributions require java 25 as a prerequisite.
- Simply execute the jar file (e.g.,
java -jar jdiskmark.jar) to launch JDiskMark. - Dropping Disk Cache
- running with elevated privileges will allow jdiskmark to automatically clear the disk cache during a read and write benchmark.
- clearing cache manually:
-
Windows: Run
EmptyStandbyList.exeorRAMMap64.exeto invalidate the disk cache and ensure accurate benchmark results. -
Linux/macOS: Use the appropriate command (
sudo sh -c "sync; 1 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches"for Linux:sudo sh -c "sync; purge"for macOS) to manually clear disk cache before running tests, ensuring accurate results.
-
Windows: Run
- Please see the user manual for an overview of how to use.
