LGTM, although I'm not entirely sure about the need for close in these doctests.

We should provide a brief explanation of why we would want to close these objects in general (not necessarily just for the purpose of the doctests).

Maybe this doesn't need to be a doctest? Or we could pick another port, just so we can avoid having to have close in here too.

Network-related operations are not reliable (it's easy to run into port conflicts). The return value of the function also seems unstable.
Perhaps julia-repl could be used instead of jldoctest.
