What is the 'WebCal' option in the webui?

When I create a new collection on the radicale webui, I saw that there is an option called "WebCal". I did some research and thought that it is something like a "subscription" to external ics files which radicale would constantly visit and 'pull' the events down into radicale's server and served to the clients. So I tried to add my google calendar ics to it. But the new event I created isn't showing up in my client. Now I'm confused about what is it and how to use it. It would be great if you can also give me an example usage.
