1.18:

  • Added an intro like in Dijeweled Multiplayer
  • Fixed keypress in menu that would result in an error
  • Fixed bomb explosion particles geting stuck in the screen if you pause and go back to the menu and following you throughout the game
  • Added Pochita easter egg bunny. It's like a snackers easter egg so you probably know how to toggle this coal skin if you have played bejeweled twist
  • Made angry bombs closer to how it looks in Bejeweled Twist: Number is glowing red, shakiness is more refined and smoke is coming out of the corners
  • Entering countdown mode will use the fade transition from the menu to the gamemode instead of instantly changing to the countdown gamemode room
  • Arcade mode, Swift Mode and Twist Mode progress bar will now be slower to reach the end, meaning that for each level you have to get more points to complete it. For Arcade balance, the bomb spawn exageration is now moved from 65 to 75, meaning that bombs will instantly spawn after each move when the progress bar is at 75% or more instead of 65% or more.
  • Zen mode levels are also slightly more harder to complete
  • Added some new background shader visualizers. Green goo visualizer is also updated with a shader now
  • Added gem physics hit sound effect
  • Slight quality of life changes to the end animation of bomb wheel spinner. You can now also disarm the bomb using a controller (press any of the swap buttons)
  • Fixed bug where clicking replay when doing an illegal swap and bomb is 0 and that bomb is doing an excellent+ combo after diffusal will break the replay
  • Added Blitz Twist mode (accessible as an option in Blitz). Furthermode twist blitz match replays have been implemented
  • Replays are now sorted by date
  • Moved doom countdown text 4 pixels. Now it is correctly centered
  • Undoing/Resseting in a quest will now also correctly undo the quest stats to the previous state, albeit with some issues still remaining
  • Fixed text glitch on quests when the objective was to destroy lightning gems
  • Changed format of local replays to be json files
  • Changed a little bit the structure of the online replay json files
  • Due to the two changes above, all previous replays are now invalid and should be deleted in order to not get errors!
  • Replays can now be uploaded to the stats database and be downloaded. The replay settings room is changed and a dialog box is spawned on the right when a replay is selected with options.
  • Dedicated server executable is updated for 1.18 parameters

HOTFIX:

  • Fixed multiplayer bot twist mode crash

  • Discord rich presence is back!
  • Quests now show the goal value in the score tab (eg "Gems destroyed: 15 / 200")
  • Most numbers now have commas to make large numbers clearer (2000 -> 2,000)
  • Added new Quest Limiter objective "pointslimit". Game is over if you go above this value in points
  • Fixed quest description coming back as a default description when loading a saved quest
  • Custom quests must be inside the Custom Quests folder inside AppData now. If you have had any custom quests previously, remember to move them inside the Custom Quests folder in order to appear in-game.
  • Slight changes to text and backdrop scale in-game

  • Spectators in online games are now allowed! When joining a dedicated server, 3 players can join the game (2 opponents and 1 spectator that can watch). Spectating is NOT possible in peer-to-peer servers
  • When joining a dedicated server, a replay file will be stored if the match is succesfully played. You can watch your replay later on the Replay list in the menu. Replays are NOT possible in peer-to-peer servers
  • Following the above, a new button is added in the Replays menu
  • Finally fixed room loading times, which means that entering any gamemode will immediately load the textures and you won't lag on the first seconds. At worst, it might lag only for the first time you enter any gamemode.
  • Blazing speed explosions for the other player will properly show the explosion visual effects now
  • Additional text is shown for a brief moment for the countdown of the timer in multiplayer (30 seconds and 10 and below)

  • Updated some static backgrounds with new ones by Muddy
  • Added Endless limiter in Quest editor (you can now make "eclipse" quests) (needs testing)
  • Added user character limit (20 characters)
  • Added blazing speed option in Lobbies
  • Fixed "Matcheless" typo in Lobbies
  • Made slightly more clear that blazing speed is not allowed in Avalanche, and matchless moves are always true when twist mode is enabled

Changes:

  • Broadened gamepad support. You can use gamepad everywhere except for these places: Menu replay
    viewer, Custom Quest Editor, Custom Quest list scrolling, Multiplayer Lobbies
  • Added pause button under the board for phone users
  • Changed CCW button on phones to be in the left area of the screen so it wont get obstructed in multiplayer modes
  • Changed hybrid (WASD) movement to not do anything when mouse is outside of board
  • Pattern Design quests will have the pattern board on the right corner of the screen when quests have more than one objective (fixed zenify + pattern board being on top of each other)
  • Pattern gems are more distinguishable now (thanks B1!)
  • Custom Quest editor will now prompt a system input screen when needed so phones can finally use it too!
  • Time attack has now global stats (as long as gem colors are kept at 7, and you are online or Player 1 in local multiplayer). Keep in mind that the stats server wont always be online for stats uploading/requesting for now.
  • When illegal swaps are allowed, a matchless swap will reset the blazing speed chain (Note: Previous blitz replays are compatible and will still work)
  • Changes to the stats folder. NOTE: STATS WILL BE RECREATED SO YOUR PREVIOUS STATS WONT BE IN THIS VERSION. However they will still be in the Appdata/Local/bej_temp_remaster/stats_*.ini, so you can just move them in the Appdata/Local/bej_temp_remaster/Stats folder to get them back.
  • Blitz mode always records games, you just have to press cancel when the prompt appears if you don't want to save your replay.
  • This version also allows an external server to be hosted where two players can join without having to port forward. Currently the server is only available to me and will be used in tourneys.

Phone and Linux versions will be available at later dates

  • Changed secret gamemode requirements.
    Compact -> Reach level 10 in Zen
    Twist -> Reach level 10 in Arcade
    Swift -> Reach 300,000 in blitz
    Survivor -> Finish 15 quests (go to Quests menu to unlock survivor if you have already met the requirements)
  • Nerfed Chain Creator 6th quest from 300 chains to 250
  • Added Back button in Lobby for mobile users
  • Added ability to chat and write quest descriptions in phones
  • Buyo mode is now playable in phones
  • Renamed Lobby setting "Skin numbers" to "Gem colors"
  • Slight change to AHM, mandatory hypercube now always spawns in places where it can be swapped. If impossible, the game is over
  • Removed 3D backgrounds, Fullscreen option and screen size options from phone version
  • Added Join and Back buttons on server join window
  • Fixed wrong information on which player has won on Avalanche online
  • Made online STANDBY wait until we are sure the level has loaded up for both players
