The demo plays nicely until somewhere in disk 2 after the circular flame-sprites where it hangs. The demo can be found here:

@mlund In the attached ZIP you will find an experimental version of the core that fixes the problem. Please test and confirm. (And don't forget to copy the updated c64mega65 config file from the ZIP to your /c64 folder.)

P.S. Even though this fixes the bug, we consider the bugfix as "too dangerous" to go into the upcoming Release 4 (ETA "before Christmas 2022"). We will put the fix into Release 5 though (ETA "before Summer 2023"). So please keep this issue open until Release 5 and feel free to work with the experimental core provided here in this ZIP until then.
