Dietpi Software - XRDP and TigerVNC requires wrong dependencies

When installing XRDP or TigerVNC via dietpi-software the install process requires to install a desktop.
XRDP requires a desktop. Which one shall be installed?

But this is not true. If you like to use an x application in fullscreen mode (i.e. chromium), there is no need for a desktop environment at all.
If you like to use XRDP you need xorgxrdp only. Optional tigervnc if you prefer vnc over rdp.

When dietpi-software asks for a desktop environment the installation can't be canceled. This requires to ssh into dietpi and kill the installation process.

You are right, the dependency could be lowered to require X only. I am open for a PR. In case, verify that none of the install steps for XRDP, TigerVNC, or RealVNC indirectly expect a desktop environment to be present.

I did it just now, was actually a no-brainer. I also added a way to exit from the dependency menus, although this is not possible during 1st run setup yet. We'd need to implement a way to return to the main menu from there, which is not cleanly possible with the current structure of the script. Alternatively we could de-select all dependents, but that is complex as well and probably not intuitive/wanted. But as a first simple step: 9b07889

For xrdp I have verified the slim solution today...

apt install xrdp xorgxrdp

Of course it's necesssary to modify /etc/xrdp/startwm.sh if you like to have a user independent solution, or to create/modify
~/.xsession to run user specific software.

i.e. /home/dietpi/.xsession to start chromium (remote debugging is optional only)
using chromium seems to require "--user-data-dir" to run properly
chromium --user-data-dir=/home/dietpi/chromium --remote-debugging-port=9222 https://www.heise.de

After veryfying chromium is running fine, we can use kiosk mode too
chromium --user-data-dir=/home/dietpi/chromium --remote-debugging-port=9222 --no-first-run --disable-infobars --noerrordialogs --kiosk https://www.kleinanzeigen.de

After installing xrdp and creating .xsession you are able to start it i.e. via xfreerdp3 from any linux machine.
xfreerdp3 /t:<TITLE> /kbd:lang:0xDE /u:dietpi /p: /v:<IP>

That way, the (regular) X11 is not even strictly needed, as its core package is pulled in via xorgxrdp. But it still makes sense, to have possibly needed additional DDX modules and/or configs installed.
