When I want a codebase with the latest dependencies
Then I want the old dependencies to be updated

Hmmm, this appears to have stopped working in the build.gradle:

        resolutionStrategy.dependencySubstitution {
            substitute module('com.overzealous:remark:1.1.0') using
                    module('com.wavefront:remark:2023-07.07') because "not available on maven central anymore"
        }

This has been a constant headache over a few years. Needed for markdown to html conversion.

It was right to isolate dependency updates from deployments, but the downside is that we are not really updating dependencies regularly enough, so when we do get around to it, there is a very long list and a greater chance of failure. These will take a while to work through.

Ah, right, 2.19.0 of com.autonomousapps.dependency-analysis:com.autonomousapps.dependency-analysis.gradle.plugin is latest for Gradle 7.x. Need to upgrade to Gradle 8.x soon too, but major version updates in Gradle is generally not a small effort with multiple breaking changes and we have warnings related to deprecated feature to be removed in 8.x, so definitely breaking. For now, stuck on 7.x.
