How can I clean the context used？

What happened?

When I use vscode plugin to ask questions and the context usage reaches the limit, I want to abandon the current session. However, I found that clicking "New Session" does not clear the context used. Is this a bug? What should I do?

The context used should be cleared properly.

With the latest version of extension, new session('+' at the top right corner) works fine. Please confirm the version info.

In the latest VS Code extension, the expected behavior of clicking New Session is to start a fresh session and reset the context usage for the current session.
If you are still seeing the context usage not being cleared on the latest version, could you please share the output of qwen /about and the extension version? That would help us confirm whether this is version-specific.

Separately, we are also discussing making this workflow more explicit through a /clear slash command. The core behavior would stay the same across clients: reset the current context and start a new session. That said, the exact UI behavior may differ by client. For example, in VS Code we may also clear the visible chat messages, while in other clients such as Zed or JetBrains we may use a different but equivalent interaction.

We will update this issue again once that interaction is finalized.
