Description

Preflight Checklist

  • I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

After Esc-Esc and going back to an earlier prompt, the cwd is not reverted, so Claude gets understandably confused.

What Should Happen?

Going back to an earlier prompt should go back to the earlier cwd

Error Messages/Logs

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Ask Claude something that would result in it switching to a subdirectory to work there.
  2. Interrupt it.
  3. Esc-Esc
  4. Go back to earlier prompt form before it changes directory
  5. Ask it to do something

Expected: no issues, it's in the right directory
Actual: it gets confused as it tries to access the files and they are not there

Claude Model

Opus

Is this a regression?
