I wanted to share a project I've been working on that might be of interest:

Skills MCP - A Package Manager for AI Agents

What it does:

• An MCP server that lets AI agents (Claude, Cursor, Windsurf, etc.) search, install, and learn new skills on-demand
• Uses uv for clean, isolated dependency management
• Agents can discover and acquire capabilities without pre-configuration

Key Features:

• Search: Find skills for specific tasks (e.g., "pdf", "excel", "diagram")
• Install: Download and install skills to ~/.skills
• Learn: Provides file structure and SKILL.md instructions to the agent
• Works with Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, Zed, VS Code, Goose, Warp

Installation:

uv tool install skills-mcp

MIT licensed. The registry is hosted at https://skills.leezhu.cn (community-run).

Is it only "skills" oriented or does it also support commands and agents sharing?
What kind of standard mechanism are you using for sharing skills?

Agent Manifest (ADS) for example Describes autonomous AI agents capabilities, authentication, and execution
it's using manifest.json see agent-manifest.org https://agent-manifest.org/
but I don't know who is in charge of such a spec... it looks currently a tiny github repo.

@leezhuuuuu we should collaborate. I've built something really similar. enact.tools

It lets you package tools in any language. For example:

This is how I reimagined the MCP/SKILL spec.
