This is follow up to #2172, the open source projects were outdated

Note

Revamps the docs homepage and the Open‑source tools section.

  • Overhauls OpenSourceCards: makes images clickable, updates Crawlee copy, replaces Got Scraping with Fingerprint Suite, and adds new cards for impit, mcpc, proxy-chain, and the Actor whitepaper; updates GitHub links/labels and adds placeholder visuals
  • Adds CSS for clickable image wrappers and placeholder hover/dark‑mode styles
  • Homepage tweaks: updates hero description; swaps and relabels API/SDK cards (API first), adds API reference link, standardizes headings to “Apify API/SDK/CLI,” and refines Support card copy/casing

I'm wondering whether making Node.js & Python a clickable link to respective landing page for Crawlee JS and Crawlee Python be too much or make it easier for users to immediately go where they want to 🤔

Should there be some images on the new cards?

@TC-MO yeah, I count it with it in the next iteration. Now I need to get the links out asap (for SEO).

BTW the formatting looks strange, it should all be aligned. Which browser are you using?

I'm using firefox, but I have small view window. On larger one it looks fine

Maybe a designer at later time could take a look at those cards? Even the ones with the icon there, feel weird when it's small icon and a background of the card?

Bug is fixed now. Re design: definitely, once merged, I'll write to #design-tasks

Apart from the optional links to JS & Python version of Crawlee in description. LGTM

what about using GH icon as a placeholder for now? feels better than duplicating the name

if you want to merge this asap, up to you, but i would first unify the background and add gh/apify icons, sounds like a job for 5 minutes, i understand you dont want to waiting for designers, but we dont need them to use an existing icon :]

btw shouldnt the section be titled as open source tools instead of open-source tools? its a bit inconsistent, in the header we use open source

@B4nan I think this is actually correct even though it looks inconsistent :D IIRC it should be non-hyphenated when it stands alone (like in the dropdown) but hyphenated when used as a compound adjective i.e., Open-source tools
