atlas schema inspect does not dump granting role_specifications to a role

I was surprised to see that I'm missing some permissions on the schema. Turned out that the postgres grants of the form:

GRANT role_name to role_specification;

do not work.

I can see that there's member_of in the schema but it did not get generated for some of the roles. It must be some odd condition. I can privately share my schema with you.

I found the probable cause of the issue. Tools like pg_dump did not dump that I am, as a user, gratned support. We ran inspect against that production database so it should've included this information.

Long story short you most likely do not do this:

FROM pg_auth_members m
JOIN pg_roles r ON r.oid = m.roleid
JOIN pg_roles u ON u.oid = m.member
WHERE u.rolname = 'wczekalski';
granted_role
