Please consider pulling this in, as it will make life for downstream projects much
easier: they can now easily build against any released version they desire.
It also archives the releases in a fashion that doesn't depend on third parties other than
where the repositories are hosted. And even then - at least - the developers will/should
have the repository mirrored.
