Future Updates and Maintenance of dc.js

First of all, thank you for the great work on dc.js! It has been a valuable tool for building interactive dashboards with crossfilter integration.

I noticed that the latest release was some time ago, and I wanted to check if there are any plans for future updates or maintenance of the project. Specifically:

Are there upcoming releases planned?
Will dc.js be updated to ensure compatibility with newer versions of D3.js and other dependencies?
Is the project still actively maintained, or should we consider alternatives for long-term projects?
Any insights on the roadmap would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for your work!

The progress has been slow in the v5 branch. However, we have been using it in production for over a year.

The best support you can provide is by using the v5 branch and filing your success/failure report.

By raising this ticket, you have already speeded up the development process. We will look forward to releasing a beta very soon.

I love this for charting and filtering and would love to see a new version.

I understand this project is not paying any bills but thanks for all your hard work, it must have saved me countless hours in the past

Thanks for all your hard work maintaining the library.

It's exciting to hear that v5 is still in progress and maturing, and also interested to see the new WIP docs.

I would be keen to attempt upgrading to v5 but one blocker is the lack of a (alpha/beta) release here on Gitlab. Would it be possible to make one? I think that would also help to show the latest status of the project, which is not immediately apparent on the Github landing page.

It would also be great if the release status could also be clarified on https://dc-js.github.io/ and in the README.md

Perhaps Version Status could be changed to say

`Releases`

Latest alpha: 5.0.0-alpha0 (31st July 2024) - used on this site
Latest stable release: 4.2.7 (4th August 2021)
