[Firefox] target about:____ pages?

I visit the about: pages on Firefox frequently and was wondering if yang could find a way to target these pages?

Hi @dreadbalaur, unfortunately add-ons cannot redirect to these about: URLs for security reasons, as they are considered privileged URLs (docs). I haven't tried all of them, but the only one that seems to work is about:blank, which I guess it's not that useful.

Only thing I could do is update the validation logic so that users cannot set privileged URLs as targets when adding or editing a bang. That would avoid the confusion of being able to set them, but then failing to redirect. What do you think?

Thank you. That is not surprising to hear. I don't think you need to waste time updating the validation logic - users who want to try this out on privileged URLs are probably aware enough to look up threads like this.

I think it doesn't hurt to have that validation, accepting URLs that don't work is more of a bug than a feature ;). Thank you for bringing this up anyways!
