We are backporting this PR to net7.0 because this Issue is currently breaking a decent number of users as they are trying to migrate their apps from
Xamarin.Forms. The current behavior in.NET MAUIis a bug and is not the desired behavior. This PR will bring the behavior in line withXamarin.Formsand does so in a way that requires less custom code from us and just relies on the underlying platform to do the right thing.Fixes #5724
