AFIM v1.0.0
First public release of AFIM — a Python toolkit for analysing, processing, and visualising sea-ice model output, with a particular focus on Antarctic fast ice and CICE-based workflows.
Highlights
- Tools for model I/O, sea-ice masking, and derived metric calculation
- Fast-ice classification workflows, including boolean and rolling approaches
- Regridding and spatial/temporal averaging utilities
- Plotting support for maps, time series, and faceted analysis
- Grounded-iceberg masking and landmask-modification workflows
- Integration of observational datasets for comparison and evaluation
- JSON-configurable analysis pipelines
- Support for structured outputs including Zarr-based workflows
Scope
AFIM is designed to support reproducible post-processing and evaluation of sea-ice simulations, especially Antarctic fast-ice studies built around CICE output.
Notes
This release establishes the first citable baseline for the AFIM analysis toolkit. Future releases will continue to refine APIs, documentation, workflows, and supported diagnostics.
