Summary

Bump version to 1.0.8, following the pattern of #977.

Version 1.0.8 (April 11th, 2025)

• Fix AttributeError when importing on Python 3.14. (Fix AttributeError when importing on Python 3.14 #1005)

Interesting approach & a useful reminder that the funding story for the @encode projects isn't currently well documented, with a bit of a mixed approach across different projects. Something to resolve in due course.
