If I block wine/proton/umu using the popup, the apps take 1 minute to launch.

It is wine, proton, umu. I found out that using "reject" will fix this... Since you are here... could you clarify this for me?:

Is this the way it works?

if I "reject", I tell the app wanting to connect "no you can't use this connection", the app continues its process without connection immediately.

if I "block" I'm blocking the app connection but I don't tell it anything, so the app will try again until the timeout ends.

Could this be my issue and fix?

Also, since I'm testing, I deleted all rules right now so if you need I can force the app again and show you something.

Yes, reject kills the connection, while deny just discards it. The application (the linux kernel) will retry the connection several times (~3, after 30s each), so that's why you see that delay.

Regarding this issue, I think it's petty much it. If the application tries to open a connection as soon as it's launched, and the connection is denied, sometimes these applications take some time to be launched.
