The binary segfaults on launch:

To Reproduce
Assuming MacPorts is installed on a PowerPC MacOS,

sudo port install cherrytree
cherrytree

I did apply a couple of changes and I am going to release a new version v1.1.3 in a few days, if it happens again with the new version please provide the new crash backtrace

@giuspen Sorry for a ridiculous delay with this. I just tried 1.6.2 and 1.5.0 and they fail on powerpc for me:

Building from the same port on x86_64 works fine, so it is either specific to powerpc or, possibly, libstdc++ ABI.
