Various site updates: adjust homepage, about and test cover blocks (colors, heights, links), rename docs/examples.md -> examples/index.md and expand examples content, and update several blog post dates. Add/remove background images and wire them into hugo.yaml for test fixtures. Refactor footer SCSS to use CSS variables, configurable min-height and light/dark border behavior. Add "pexels" to cspell. Update scripts/get-build-id.sh to append "-or-later-commit" for git-describe suffixes and tidy script formatting.
