[Feature]: Assign colors to Companies and show in asset list

How can we help?

Our company uses various colored asset tags on our equipment to indicate if it is owned by a specific company/department/customer.
We would like to be able to set a color within the "Company" definition (aligned with the color of our physical tags), and have that color be the CSS 'background-color' of the "Company Name" cell entry when viewing the asset list or asset details page. Rough example below.

This isn't really that hard to do, it just seems pretty niche. Is anyone else interested in this feature?

same here, we're also using different color for the labels to distinquish between the companys.
EDIT:
another approach could be, to just show the company image. Either before the company name or as a seperate column like the device image. The company image than can have the label color.
This works also out for the asset detail page.

@snipe Agree and understand. I imagine that whatever mechanism (if implemented) could be re-used for Categories and maybe Location, at least - might make the addition of the feature have a broader audience.

I could also get behind the idea by @U-H-T - I first tried uploading an image for the company but couldn't see a way to display that in the list. I'd be just as happy with that implementation too.

This gets pretty hairy though, since we don't know what colors you're going to pick, and if (as in your example) you're picking a dark color, we also either need to also store the text color, or we risk having conflicts for readability, with white on very light grey, black on black, etc.

that's true. So again my proposed solution with just showing the company logo shifts that problem to the user ;)
If i find some time the next weeks, i can try to implement it...

Yeah either of those work!
I'm slightly torn between the two options; the 'tag' shows intent, but I think I lean towards the squares too - as there is more... "surface area" to see the color while quickly scanning the page.
