Also, would it be more clear to say that we're giving the "bias" to a window, instead of the "ratio"?
Specifies which window will receive the bias. sounds more intuitive imo, what do you think?

That sounds good. I would just add of a split to make it:
Specifies which window will receive the bias of a split.
