Description
Hi, everyone! The Kubernetes community, through SIG Contributor Experience has been running New Contributor Orientation sessions for a while now, and while we're getting a good number of attendees, I thought it would be a good idea to conduct some UX Research and Data Analysis to figure out how contributors interact with the project after the sessions.
Some of the areas we could dive into are:
- Creating Contributor Personas
- Tracking how contributors are contributing to the project after the NCO in terms of the SIGs they contribute to and how they're doing 1 month, 3 months and 6 months after the session.
- Document why some contributors stick around while others do not.
I remember KNative has done something to this effect, which can be found here: https://mentorship.lfx.linuxfoundation.org/project/54afaf17-4dc9-4783-9641-a95b5a33af9e
I think this would be a great way to bring in a diverse variety of contributors into the project, while also backing up some of the trends we've seen with numbers and would love to discuss the feasibility/any previous efforts related to this.
