[Feature] Create folder organization for files and allow shares to be created from folders

Palmr is great and hopefully this is already on the roadmap -- my apologies if it is. Two related feature requests that would eliminate my need to use Nextcloud which I primarily use for fileshares.

1. Allow the creation of folders (and subfolders) in Palmr that you can name, and upload files into. First, would improve file organization and storage for sharing, but also, would allow the following:

2. Allow shares to be created from folders. If you are creating a share, you could first organize your files into folders and subfolders, and then create the share at the top level -- or -- at whatever level you want. Same functionality with shares as with the "groups" of files -- password, expiration, custom links, etc. Then you could simply update the shares by dropping files into the folders -- or removing them.

Not sure if this is within the vision of the author, but this change would really eliminate any need for Nextcloud to do shares.

Thanks a bunch for the kind words and awesome feedback, it really means a lot!

I've been thinking the exact same thing! Adding folder support and folder-based sharing would totally level up Palmr. , especially for folks who use platforms like Nextcloud. Good news: it's definitely on the roadmap for a future update!

Right now, I'm all about squashing bugs and making sure the current version runs super smoothly. Im doing a lot of internal testing, and our community has been a huge help too, so we can get a stable release out the door soon. Once that's solid, I'll dive into bigger features like folders, since that'll mean a pretty big re-think of the project's structure.

Oh, and I haven't officially published a roadmap yet (it's still bouncing around in my head, haha!), but I totally plan to get a clear and easy-to-find one up in the repository ASAP.

Or possibly, allow files to be uploaded to share directly. Most of the time I want to send a specific file to a specific user. Eg. some backup or export, so I only use it once. It would be easier to just

• create a share
• upload files to share
• generate link

I don't to manage individual shares, so those could be hidden perhaps.

And even better, allow a 'deletion' time, where the files will be deleted after a while (possible a month or so after the expiration of the link). But that might be a different issue.

The new folder functionality is great! Thank you Daniel. I haven't tested it for size limits or anything but how it works is awesome. This is so intuitive and purpose-built I can share it with others as users and feel confident they could navigate using it.
