`Profile-Dir/log.txt` grows indefinitely?

System:

based on Ubuntu 24.04
installed as snap: joplin-desktop v3.4.12 127 latest/stable james-carroll✪
Used for < 2 years

Problem:

Using Help > open profile directory shows a folder with a log.txt that is larger than 65 MB. This is larger than all other data in the folder combined.

solution:

Only keep the last week of log? or create a new log file per run and always only keep seven, etc.

Workarround:

Use logrotate configured manually for the file.

From looking at https://github.com/laurent22/joplin/blob/dev/packages/lib/RotatingLogs.ts it appears that once the log hits 100 MiB it is archived and a new log opened. It then looks like the archived logs are deleted after 90 days.

This appears to be what is happening on my system. I no longer have a large log file sitting in config-desktop. Just the current one and the archives less than 90 days old.
