MySQLTuner 2.8.28 - System command failed & ERROR 1524

When running MySQLTuner 2.8.28, I get ERROR 1524 (HY000): Plugin 'unix_socket' is not loaded, which is indeed correct per the unix_socket=OFF entry in my /etc/my.cnf file. I'm unsure why this would be considered an error.

There's also this:

System command failed: /usr/bin/mariadb -Nrs -e 'select "mysqld is alive"' --connect-timeout=3

I must stress these are new issues that did not happen on MySQLTuner 2.7.2.
