Inquiry About the Future Development of the Project

Excuse me, I hope you don’t mind me asking, but could you kindly share whether this project is still active? There haven’t been many updates in the past two months, and I was wondering if there are any plans for its future development. At my workplace, we use MUI Minimal and are considering upgrading to React 19 and RSC.

There is already a version with new API under development slate for alpha release next month. We are working on documentation right now.

I have a question about the rust port. I know there was talk about using react compiler.

We are already aware of it. Whenever the port happens for Linaria, we'll also update the usage withing Pigment to use the port without affecting the end-user API.

Does this mean there are no plans internally for a rust port then? But rather to rely on Linaria?

when will be released the V1 version? is it possible to test it somehow? I've ported my whole app to the current version of pigment but it doesn't seems to be stable, I get weird errors and I was wondering if is possible to test the alpha version and see if the current bug I'm facing are resolved...

Note that this version is not compatible with @mui/material package. It is a version independent of any @mui/* packages.

I hope you’re doing well. I’m writing to kindly follow up regarding the status of the project.

A couple of months ago, I reached out to ask whether the project was still active, and I really appreciated your response and the optimism you shared about a potential alpha release “next month.” Since then, however, there haven’t been any visible updates or activity, and I just wanted to check in again—mainly out of genuine interest and continued hope that the project will move forward.

I understand that open source work often has to compete with other priorities, and I completely respect the time and effort it takes to maintain a project like this. If you have any updates to share or even just a rough sense of the roadmap (or lack thereof), that would be greatly appreciated.

At the moment, we've paused work on Pigment as we are short on people to work on it and the amount of research it requires to make it work without any issues across bundlers. We may revisit it in future but it's in a paused state right now.
We are focussed on looking at alternate ways (mainly runtime as it frees us from thinking about bundlers) to have a styling engine with RSC support.
