What feature would you like to see?
The context window indicator in the Codex macOS app is currently buried in the bottom-right corner of the interface. It's easy to miss, which makes it hard to keep track of how much context you've consumed during a session.
I'd like the context window usage to be more prominent — ideally displayed in a more visible location (e.g., the toolbar or top area of the chat), or with a visual treatment that makes it stand out more (progress bar, color changes as it fills up, etc.). Or at least place it in the bottom-left corner where it's normally displayed in Codex CLI/Claude Code.
Knowing how much context remains is critical for deciding when to start a new session or trim the conversation, and the current placement makes this information too easy to overlook.
Environment:
- Codex CLI: codex-cli 0.101.0
- Platform: macOS Tahoe v26.3
