bash errors when calling brew

I install home-brew and had no issues. today when I run

brew list I get a lot of errors. I have installed bash5 (using brew). Not sure what else I did to mess this up. How can I investigate and resolve this issue?

That looks like you:

• also installed bash-completion@2, but
• are still using the system bash (v3.x) as your login shell

To confirm this, run exec /usr/local/bin/bash -l and see if those errors go away.

Sorry, got it the wrong way round. The errors are from bash-completion, so you need to brew uninstall that and install bash-completion@2 instead.

You'd have to load the new completions, so that means starting a new shell (open a new terminal), or replacing your existing shell session (exec bash -l).

sort of like windows rebooting. Yes, that did the trick. I'm back up and running without this list of errors/warnings.
